Ok, Amanda's been doing this, and thought it looked fun, but I'm not going to try to do one a day...here's all of them, as best I can think of at the moment...

Day 01 - Your favorite song
Oi um... (this is as bad as picking my favorite book)
You Raise Me Up - perhaps, since I have 3 or 4 versions of this and love them all?

Day 02 - A song that makes you happy
Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond
Makes me think of summer and Twins games

Day 03 - A song that makes you sad
Looking In - Mariah Carey

Day 04 - A song that reminds you of someone
Cheeseburger in Paradise - Jimmy Buffett
Trish, Molly and Wednesday nights in the bowels of the old UC for the Hill :)

Day 05 - A song that reminds of you of somewhere
Glasgow Love Theme - Love Actually/Craig Armstrong
This will always remind me of London, in particular walking along the South Bank of the Thames from the Globe back to Blackfriars, alone at night, and the amazing peace I sensed there...also especially meaningful since this movie came out while I was over there.

Day 06 - A song that reminds you of a certain event
Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy - Big and Rich
APO Sectionals, SUNY Oneonta.....5 Larrys in a Lexus slummin' it with the crazies ;)

Day 07 - A song that you can dance to
Sway - Micheal Buble
Do I need to explain this??

Day 08 - A song that makes you fall asleep
Glasgow Love Theme - Love Actually/Craig Armstrong
Again, yes, but this is so peaceful and brings back peaceful memories, so it's great to drift off with.

Day 09 - A song from your favorite band
Mo Ghile Mear - Celtic Woman
dunno...just love this song and love Celtic Woman

Day 10 - A song that no one would expect you to love
hmmm...Gummi Bears? Amish Paradise (Weird Al)? Pour Some Sugar on Me? dunno...

Day 11 - A song that describes you
Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson
Not copying you Amanda, I swear...

Day 12 - A song from your favorite album
A Moment Like This - Kelly Clarkson (Thankful)
This is probably the CD that is almost always one of the ones in my car.

Day 13 - A song that you listen to when you're angry
Bitch - Meredith Brooks

Day 14 - A song that you listen to when you're happy
Right Kind of Wrong - LeeAnn Rimes

Day 15 - A song that you listen to when you're sad
Angel - Sara McLachlan
so wistful...

Day 16 - A song that you want to play at your wedding
All I Ask of You - Phantom of the Opera/Andrew Lloyd Webber
I think this song so perfectly depicts the things that are most important in a real, lasting relationship

Day 17 - A song that you want to play at your funeral
One Sweet Day - Boyz II Men & Mariah Carey

Day 18 - A song that makes you laugh
Spectacular, Spectacular - Moulin Rouge
So many random bits in it...

baaaa sheep

been awhile since I've done this one...

visited 34 states (68%)
Create your own visited map of The United States or determine the next president

This includes my 'stretch' states...ones I've only been in briefly, riding through or airports or day trips. (ie Idaho, Montana, Conneticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Oklahoma, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Maryland (I think))

Sunday, Monday, Happy Days

Ok, my week and a half of vacation is almost over...now I have to go back to the real world....5 days in NNY and 4 in NMN were lovely - lots of sitting by the lake(s) and reading, seeing loons and baby ducks, and eating way too much crap! Anyways, two days left for me to get used to not being a lazy arse again. I think Abby reviewed the SLU weekend quite well so I refer you there if you need the dirt on SLU... Our family trip to Madden's was gooooorgeous! While Gil's place was far from rustic, this was uber posh! Everything was just so nice (granted we paid to get that kind of place...) Played my first round of real golf (and sucked), tried out a water bike, and attempted to get onto the giant trampoline they had floating in the lake (far harder than it looks). Also went and saw the famous Nisswa Turtle Races. (yes, turtle races)

Anyways, the point of interest in this week that will interest you all is who I saw in the Syracuse airport waiting to get on the same plane as me. Fonzie!! Our flight was delayed because of thunderstorms, so everyone was sitting/standing around rather bored. I was sitting right by the desk, and I turned around when I heard someone call out something, and saw this man at the counter that looked soooo familiar...after racking my brain I was pretty sure that it was the guy who used to play Fonzie on Happy Days...could remember his name for the life of me though. This was further confirmed when we got to Detroit and I saw him heading for a flight to LA. Anyways, got home and pulled up photos on the 'net and I'm 99% sure it was him. Anyways, randomness abounds and I'm rambling now, so I shall shut it O:-)

Little Known Fact

This wasn't really supposed to be funny, but I have to share it!

This morning my 8 year old cousin was over for a couple hours while my aunt was at pilates. Last week they found out that their grandmother (on their dad's side - no direct relation to me) has bladder cancer pretty bad. (apparently she never goes to the doctor...) Anyways, so this morning Joe ask me if I knew his grandma was in the hospital, and I said yes. He then says "Yeah, she has pee cancer..." he then goes on to talk about fairly specific treatment steps and using the doctors' names. He is one strange little kid....he also pulled up some series on youtube that he finds hilarious and I just thought was dumb...

So I though you all might enjoy that, perhaps when someone we know is going through cancer treatments, we can comfort them that they don't have pee cancer!

**On another note, I'm amused by the Twins radio guys... They shorten the Padres to Pads, and it comes out sounding like Pods...so instead of playing priests we're actually playing pod people!!! Anyways, Go Twins!

quiz attack

Everything's coming up roses!

I'm giddy with excitement from my day so far!  First, I had a 30 minute hot stone massage - courtesy of my brother's birthday present, so all I paid was tip.... Then I wander into Pennies before I leave the mall, thought I'd check on this coat I'd seen last month and see if they still had any, and what price.  So they had them still - only $30!!  It's light brown suede with fuzzy fur-like stuff for lining (including a lined hood!  So warm and snuggly!  Then I come across dockers for $5, a cute christmas shirt for a buck, socks for a buck, and then my big score - fuck me boots (that actually fit my calves) for $20!!!!!!!!!  Wow, I'm still excited.  In total I got nearly $400 worth of stuff for about $60.  Squeeage galore!

So I've seen a few things lately on this Ron Paul guy...hadn't really heard about him previously (not that I'm following the race very closely, especially on the republican side), but now every time I hear or see mention of him what pops into my mind?  Rue Paul.  Yeah, has this happened to anyone else?  And can we note the irony in the comparison?  hmmm...that'd be the day - when Rue Paul went for the republican nomination!

The other day at work we got on the discussion of cereals and how we eat them, and I brought up the ways I like to eat LIFE cereal... Then the other two people I'm talking with look at me blankly - they've never even heard of LIFE!  I thought this was very weird, as I had always been under the impression that LIFE was quite common, well known like Chex, Cheerios, etc....

So who's weird?  Me or them?  Since I don't have poll capabilities, I'll do it the old fashioned way:

Please choose one of these responses:

LIFE Cereal:
__ LOVE it!!
__ Not my favorite cereal
__ ?? What is that!?

Thanks :)

I just introduced Garrison Keillor to the concept of a Canadian Studies major!

ok, I've finished now, life can return to normal...

So last night was, shall we say, special
The first girl at my register was literally screaming and crying while I got her change....and then an hour and a half of the most breakneck registering I have ever experienced....and this is after two Christmas seasons...I had my wand out so I could add blinding menace to my glare if anyone dared to be a pain and do something like write a check....but I restrained myself, even though I think it is concensus that I got the two worst sales of the night....first the lady who had us stash a basket and a half of clearance stuff at the registers to ring up with her book....she left with four shopping bags full....then the lady who wanted a tax exempt but didn't tell me till I handed her the reciept, and at 1am my brain wasn't really up to remembering anything other than scan book, member card, swipe card/get change, hand book over.....I did have fun teasing

roxydior's little sister by getting cozy with the boxes at about 11:58 O:-)  That and playing with my timeturner and then pretending that I had arrived from the next afternoon and was about to tell them all how it 'ended'

Anyways, its all over now finally, now just for several weeks of crazy sales probably, and of course taking bets on how many people each day ask us if its in paperback and how long they'll have to wait for said paperback... *rollseyes* they never learn...

The party was interesting....particularly to compare with Tattered's two years ago....I was curious to see the differences between working and being a guest, independent vs. chain, etc... I'm certainly not likely to see anything quite like them ever again...

But yes, now I'm exhausted....was 2:30 when I got home and my mom was still kinda wound up (she worked the party as a volunteer), so she wanted to rehash...and of course I had to explain the extent of the messes we found when we surveyed the store after she left (I lost 5 shelves in my section alone....though granted my section is where they were lining up all evening!), so it was after 3 when I went to bed, and then I woke up at 6:30 to my dad walking in the rocks outside my window, and was too wired to go back to sleep, so I started reading....I'm now exhausted and could probably sleep for a week, but at least I'm done and there can be no spoilerage for me at work tomorrow!! (cause you know there will be)

ok, time for dinner, then being a zombie/listening to the Twins kick the Angels' butts hopefully, then sleeeeeeeeeeeep!!  Happy reading to all who still have some ahead of them! :)

....and now the question is what the hell do you read after this!?  all my fluffy piles of chick lit are definatly out to start, but how much do I feed the Harry-esque trend?   Have been kinda wanting to read Les Mis again lately, but I don't know if that's a bit tooo much....or I've got some nice happy Kite Runner or holocaust era stuff....meh....maybe I'll just bring sudoku to work for a couple days...
